Voice. Treaty. Truth.

To celebrate NAIDOC week, today the Corporate team invited Noongar Elder George Hayden to join us for a smoking ceremony at our offices in Perth. George talked of the meaning of the smoking as a way to welcome in good spirits to create positivity moving forward and its role in cleansing and welcoming mob.

We learnt about this year’s NAIDOC theme of Voice, Treaty, Truth, Let’s work together for a shared future. We discussed the links to the 2017 Uluru Statement from the heart.
‘Voice. Treaty. Truth’ were three key elements to the reforms set out in the Uluru Statement from the Heart. These reforms represent the unified position of First Nations Australians.

2019 being the UN International Year of Indigenous Languages, the team were introduced to some Noongar language in a sing along and we were lucky to have members of our team share some of their languages with us.

We look forward to hearing about our teams on site and their celebrations with clients and staff and we will share those experiences with you.

Boorda Warn, see you later!
