National Reconciliation Week theme announced

Last week Reconciliation Australia announced the 2020 National Reconciliation Week theme “In this Together

The Reconciliation Australia website published an article last week explaining the theme;
“Australia’s ability to move forward as a nation relies on individuals, organisations and communities coming together in the spirit of reconciliation.

The National Reconciliation Week 2020 theme reinforces that we all have a role to play when it comes to reconciliation, and in playing our part we collectively build relationships and communities that value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories and cultures.”

National Reconciliation Week runs from 27 May to 3 June every year and NEMMS JV and the Indigenous Business Team have started to plan events for all of our staff across our sites. These dates are significant commemorating the 1967 Referendum and the 1992 High Court Mabo decision. As part of our Reconciliation Action Plan we continue to educate and inform staff about these important events in our calendar.
