Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! As we spring into the New Year we are excited to see what 2019 will bring for NEMMS JV and our partners.

We kick off the year with projects out in the Goldfields for one of our partner companies who are working on new civil projects starting this month. Our teams in Dampier, Karratha and Telfer have maintained production throughout the holiday season and we appreciate their efforts throughout this time. Our corporate office has expanded in the last 6 months to better support the work of our teams on site across WA. We have welcomed personnel into our accounts department and into recruitment as well as Operations Managers to support new works.

Looking to our Reconciliation Action Plan targets and the outcomes of our RAP Working group meeting at the end of last year, one of the objectives we discussed was under the framework of cultural protocols. We looked at how we, as a business, acknowledge our traditional owners in our day-to-day processes.

An Acknowledgement of Country is an opportunity for anyone to show respect for Traditional Owners and the continuing connection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to Country. Both non-Indigenous people and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people can give an acknowledgement to country.

As a group, we endorsed the wording of our acknowledgement of country and discussed how we will implement this policy in our business led by our Indigenous Business Manager and supported by the leaders in the business.

We look forward to sharing our progress throughout 2019.
