Footie fever

Winter time in Western Australia means AFL and whether you are watching a game, helping out the Auskick teams or playing in your local league, AFL brings communities together.

For the Punmu Bulldogs, NAIDOC week meant a trip down to Perth to enjoy playing at the Stadium in a curtain raiser before the Eagles & Collingwood match. Our Joint Venture partner Milton Chapman’s community came to Perth and NEMMS JV COO Derek Williamson was there to cheer the boys on.

Goomarin JV Director, Jarrod Hayden presented his local team the Coolbellup Amateur Football Club with their football shirts which are proudly sponsored by Goomarin JV as part of our Reconciliation Action Plan commitments to supporting local community initiatives. They have some exciting games coming up and we will bring you photos of the boys out on the field soon.

Earlier this year NEMMS JV’s Dampier team were pleased to offer sponsorship to the Karratha based Baynton United Football Club to help them off to a great season.

And it’s not just all about the football, another of our Pilbara sites sponsored “Pitter Pat Productions” and helped them to bring their production of “Little Shop of Horrors” to the stage at the Karratha Red Earth Arts Precinct in June. Pitter Pat Productions is Karratha’s local not for profit theatre company.

NEMMS JV recognise the importance of community and these sponsorships are a great way to help disseminate the benefit that sport and leisure activities provide in bringing people together.
