The annual KDCCI Business Excellence Awards celebrate the achievements, innovation and enterprising spirit of small to medium sized businesses across the City of Karratha. The awards honour organisations that demonstrate a commitment to the core values of business excellence, through outstanding service and contributions to the local economy and community. It is a unique opportunity for local businesses to have their hard work, commitment and of course, successes, recognised. Importantly, the awards foster pride and inspire confidence in the local business community while encouraging economic development and diversification across the City of Karratha. We were finalists in both the Best Business (20 + employees) category and the Best Aboriginal Company Category and were proud to be Highly commended in the Best Business (20+ Employees) category and to win the category Best Aboriginal Company. To top the night off we were nominated and won the Business of the Year Award. An absolute honor for all those involved.Directors Bruce, Sue and Frances Bung along with CEO Clinton Keenan, Indigenous Business Manager Jarrod Hayden and Project Managers, Jason Gore and Justin Angove accepted the awards on the night and were thrilled to be recognised for the work we do.Bruce in his acceptance speech quoted Paul Kelly saying “from little things big things grow.” He was happy to reflect that what started as very simple goals to provide homes for his family back on country has developed and grown through an amazing journey which has seen NEMMS JV create opportunities for Indigenous people through employment and community initiatives across the Pilbara and WA. Jason Gore spoke of the sustainable engagement that our sites create with Indigenous employees, communities and businesses in the Karratha area.It was a great night to celebrate with the team acknowledging how far we have come and how our relationships with our clients, our suppliers and our staff are so integral to our success.
