And the winner is…

NEMMS JV Project Manager, Jason Gore, represented the company at the Dampier Art Awards last week and awarded the winners of two categories sponsored by NEMMS JV. Jason was pleased to present these awards to local artists Sandy Featch, People’s Choice winner and Tahlia Lenton for the Youth Category.

Sandy Featch’s artwork titled ‘Day’s End – Hearson’s Cove’ was voted the most popular piece by visitors to the 2018 Dampier Art Awards Exhibition. Sandy entered this piece in the ‘Pilbara landscapes’ category and was awarded the category winner. Consequently his work is currently on display in the Dampier Community Hub foyer for the next six weeks, along with all other category winners and highly commended pieces. The judge’s comment on Sandy’s artwork was: “A serene landscape, quiet and composed with some texture and contrast upon closer inspection.”

NEMMS JV also sponsored the Youth category and the winner was Tahlia Lenton for her 3D piece titled ‘Decaying Delicacy’. The judge’s comment on Tahlia’s artwork was: “For a confident and skilled handling of a variety of recycled materials to accurately create form and character.”

NEMMS JV are strong advocates for community events which encourage reflection on the local environment, and the relationships of the people within it.
